Saskia Portman is inspired by the often-overlooked forms and arrangements found in urban environments. Seeking to revive and celebrate the neglected, transforming the mundane—a torn poster at a bus stop—into a fortunate stroke of serendipity. Using impasto techniques to create depth and texture, Saskia translates these shapes into abstract paintings, elevating them to a platform of appreciation.

Recently, Saskia has expanded her artistic practice into pottery, exploring the tactile possibilities of ceramics. Experimenting with raw materials, crafting her own glazes. Saskia aims to blend beauty with practicality, embracing the process of learning and creation with each piece.
